Writing Challenge-Day #3
What are your top three pet peeves?
This is a challenging one. I don't want to sound like I'm complaining, but this seems to be what the post is asking for.
I suppose they could include (in no particular order)
1. People who are chronically late. Not just once or twice, or a few minutes late, but people who routinely show up for anything of even mild importance later than is acceptable. And I don't know really what is acceptable. I would figure somewhere between 5 and 10 minutes late. I try to be a few minutes early for appointments, work, obligations etc. I plan this way so that even if something unexpected comes up, I still won't be late. I've even gone as far as setting my watch ahead 5 minutes to keep me slightly ahead of time.
2. People who complain about everything. There are two ways to look at almost every situation, a glass half full or half empty. I understand if there are challenges that get someone down, and I understand that depression is a real thing and these are not what I'm talking about. What I am referring to is when someone is always viewing situations as though the world is out to get them, as though they can't do anything right or as though there is nothing that will go their way. In my mind, there is almost always a bright side to a situation and we can learn something from even the most challenging of circumstances.
3. Forgetting peoples names. It may not seem like much, but it bugs me when I see someone I know, even someone I have had a conversation with and I can't remember their name. I've had plenty of chats with people, and avoided saying their name because I could not remember it. What's my name again?
Anyway, even though I had to list three pet peeves, they really don't bother me that much. Life is too short to get hung up on insignificant items like those I have listed above.
