30 day writing challenge-Day #1
I have to admit, the main challenge will be to write for 30 days in a row. But here we go.
Day 1- List 10 things that make you happy.
At first glance, this should be easy.
1. My wife, Jill. She is very much my better half. She tolerates me, loves me and likes me, even when I am annoying. She is the most beautiful person I have ever met.
2. My children. I'm lumping all of them together. Each of them is very unique and it's impossible to say I love one more than another. I do however, love them differently, because they are so different.
3. My faith. Much of what I do and say in life is guided by inner compass, which is driven by my faith in Jesus Christ and his teachings. I also understand that others who do not share my faith, carry within them a similar moral code and I strive to respect these differences.
4. Books. I love to read (or listen to audiobooks)
5. Bikes. I'll include both pedal and motor bikes in this one. Both styles make me happy.
6. Food. I've always had a healthy love for food. Considering its something that will be an ever present part of my life, I better like it.
7. Dogs. Specifically, my dog Ralph. He's a rescue dog. A shepherd-husky cross. He is very good looking, and pretty well behaved for a puppy
8. Movies. Not all of them, but there are some out there that sure do make me think, laugh and maybe even cry. These are the good ones.
9. Weather. Good or bad, the variety makes me smile. Although, in the really cold weather, that smile might just get frozen that way.
10. Friends. Another sort of generic one. I should point out that this is not in list of priority (except the first few). Having moved across Canada over the last couple of decades, I have made wonderful friends in many cities. They hold such wonderful memories for me.
That's it for day 1. It's always good to reflect on the positive aspects of our lives, the things that make us happy. Overall, I know I have a good life and should find ways to share these blessings with others.
Until tomorrow's challenge...although I will probably post a book review or two.
